The ABC's of Daddy
This summer has been a little tough on us girls with Daddy working out of town all week. We miss him. So, we wanted to make Father's Day extra special this year. Using my new scrapbooking program, we put together a little book called, "The ABC's of Daddy", custom made just for him. I had it printed through my lab and received it just in time for the girls to give it to him two days early! I can't share the whole book, but did want to share the concept. I wrote a poem, each page representing a letter of the alphabet and including a picture of Daddy and his girls. This is how it read:
The ABC's of Daddy
A is for knowing that you will Always be there.
B is for the Baths you give and when you wash my hair.
C is for our Camping trips and all the fun we have.
E is for the Elephant sounds that always make me laugh.
F is for the Fun we have swinging on the swings.
G is for how Generous you are when you buy me things.
H is for the Happiness in the smiles you put on my face.
I is for the Impossibility that anyone could ever take your place.
J is for the times you hug me Just because you can.
K is for the Kindness you show when you hold my hand.
L is for the Laughter each time you tickle me.
M is for the Many times you've helped me poop and pee.
N is for all the times you've comforted me late at Night.
O is for how Often you snuggle close and hold me tight.
P is for Princess because that's what I am to you.
Q is for how Quickly we became stuck together like glue.
R is for how Rich I am because I couldn't love you more.
S is for how Safe I feel because that's what dad's are for.
T is for all the Times you've said, "I love you".
U is for how Unbelievably much I love you, too!
V is for how Very glad I am when you come home.
W is for how I Wish you could stay and never go.
X is for how Xtra special you make me feel every day.
Y is for the times You know exactly what to say.
Z is for all the times you take me to the Zoo.
And, D is so special because it stands for Dad, (that's you!)
Hopefully, the book helped Jeff know how special he is to me and the girls. He may be a stinky boy sometimes, but he's the only stinky boy we want!
